Bayern Munich, probably the only other thing I love right now more than food. During my trip to Germany in May 2015, I got the chance to watch them live at the stadium.If you follow Bundesliga, you would know that it is really almost impossible to get a ticket to their games. Even the fans there have a hard time because the tickets are sold out for EVERY SINGLE GAME. But fret not fellow fans, below are some of the way you can attend the match of your dreams.
1) FC Bayern Tours (EUR180++)
I am putting this as the first one because this is the way I got my Allianz Arena match ticket. It is the most sure-fire way to get your ticket well in advance and also the most expensive one. The tour is officially operated by FC Bayern and like the name, it operates like a tour package. The cheapest package is a whopping EUR180 per person and includes:
- 2 overnight stay (incl breakfast buffet) at Novotel München Messe
- Category 3 seats (Possibly row 3-4, zone 241)
This option is severely overpriced as face value for a CAT 3 ticket for FCB Bundesliga game is only around EUR 45 per ticket in 2014/2015. For me, this is really the only possible option as I have to get ticket for that particular match (cause it’s the only week I’m in Munich). Official tickets are priced differently based on the league. Champions league are obviously more expensive (CAT 3 is EUR100). You can refer to this link for the current season price listing; Allianz Arena price FC Bayern tours sells ticket for every single Home and Away game. If I am not mistaken they might also offer some CL matches. I am not very sure of the price though.
Zone 241 are directly behind the goal post, on the 2nd level. Unfortunately it is not behind the standing seats (where the long-time Bayern fans are and cheers are the loudest) but is on the opposite side from them. It is a very good zone, clear view of the pitch but one downside is that it is very near to the Away fans zone. At certain points I actually felt like I can hear the opposing team chants louder than FCB chants. Interesting part is you can definitely feel the fan chant competition going on. How to apply for FC Bayern Tours: FC Bayern tours does have an English site but it is not updated with the available matches. Updated matches and application have to be made via the German site. This is where google translate comes in handy.

The page will state whether or not the game is available or sold out and any application can be made via the page. After application is done, you will get an automated email notification that you have submitted the application (this is not confirmation of booking, just a submission). They will send another email if your application is successful. They will credit the fees from your credit card 2 weeks before the match.
Tips and reminders
i) The price is expensive but it does get sold out and very quickly as well. Especially for games against the big teams like BVB, Borussia Monchengladbach, Wolfsburg etc. The booking for 1st half of the season should be open not long after the schedule is released and the 2nd half around autumn.
ii) In 2014/2015 season, they made the last 3 home matches of the season only available for club members. So if you’re planning to attend any of these, apply for membership beforehand or choose another match.
iii) Tickets are send to the hotel chosen under the package. Can be picked up upon check-in.
iv) Novotel Hotel is a great hotel with a very nice breakfast but the tricky part is there is 2 Novotel in Munich. The one under the package is not the City Centre one. I made the mistake of going to the City Centre Novotel near Marienplatz only to know this fact. It is around 20mins from Munich HBF (I think?).
2) Ticket-Zweitmarkt
This is the best way to get your ticket at face value. Bayern introduced this during 2014/2015 season after they terminated their partnership with viagogo. This is the FCB second-hand online ticket system. Kinda like Bayern’s very own eBay but with 0% fraud rate. All sellers need to have the ticket already linked to their FCB account to be able to sell.
You need to register a free account to buy the tickets. Sounds easy and cheap right? But here’s the thing
i) Any tickets listed will first be available to club members only (who have their membership linked to their online account). Most matches, the ticket never get released for public sales. Around 1 week or less before the match they will release it for public sales if ticket remains unsold to members. There are certain times when this happens (to get more details as to when, refer to tips below)
ii) There might be tickets being sold and might be none at all. You would not know until around 1 week or less before when people really starts selling
iii) Tickets are grabbed within 1-2 seconds of being listed. Happens a lot of time especially for CL games. I think people just keep refreshing the page and grab the first ticket they see.
Tips to get ticket (especially as non-member)
i) Attend a weekday match – There is always that 1 or 2 weeks in a season where there is a match on a weekday. I checked the availability of ticket for 2014/2015 season and saw that more tickets are being sold for mid-week matches. So many being sold up to the point that they open the sale to non-members.
ii) Attend a Bundesliga match on the week where FCB also have a CL match – In this case, there will also be a lot of people selling weekend matches. Especially when the CL match is after group stage.
iii) Apply for FCB membership – This is not such a bad idea especially if you’re planning to buy jerseys etc from FCB official shop there (members get 10% discount and a supporter scarf for free upon joining). I might do a tutorial on how to apply for membership later.
3) Attend an away match
Ticket to Allianz Arena matches are a miracle to get but not the away match… that is sold by the opposing team. But the downside is that, you have to sit at the opposing team zone. I know, i know. You can’t feel the spirit of supporting Bayern this way but desperate times calls for desperate measures.
The teams that the tickets are always sold out before public sales are bigshot teams like Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund but not the other less mainstream team. In my case, I’ve bought ticket for Away game for Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen at Bay Arena via Leverkusen’s ticket portal. You can buy it way in advance and get a great seat that you can never get at Allianz Arena. I’ve actually got front-row ticket to this game for EUR60. The view was so amazing I don’t think I even blinked during the game. It is just that precious. These are proofs of how great the view from front seats are (No zoom was used btw). And yes that is Gotze and Schweinsteiger.
4) Viagogo
Viagogo is a 3rd party online ticket shop where people can buy/sell their ticket. However, tickets here are usually sold at way above face value (even more expensive than FC Bayern Tours). There is also high possibility of fraud, as there are a lot of fake sellers there. I don’t recommend this option unless you are truly desperate and are willing to bear the risks.
Not really saying that everyone’s a scammer there cause I myself did sell one of my Leverkusen match ticket there (a legit one).
5) Just go to the open training session
Another choice if you just want to see the players upclose. This option means that you won’t be able to watch the match but it still allow you to see the players in front of you.
The training is open to the public (even non-members), free and no tickets are required.

Membership are only open on Jan and July for each year. Not sure whether if u apply now would u be able to join immediately. If not u might’ve have to wait til July this year. If you join in January, you’ll have to keep your membership for 1.5 years at the very least. Because its already consider middle of the season and they don’t allow half season membership.

Hi Gerardo. Yes, you’re right the membership is only possible in Jan and July. But you should apply a few weeks before so that you can get all the cards/supporter scarf and access by 1st July.
I wish we can get CL games at face value or cheap but even if membership and zweitmarkt the possibility is very low. I’ve never bought CL tickets so can’t really give you advice on a fair price for it 😚
The only way I can think of to get cheaper ticket might be through FC Bayern Tours. CL package start from 230EUR for Home matches for CAT3 tickets + 2 nights accomodation. The April Real madrid match tour is already sold out though and was only open to fanclub members.
If you have membership, u can try zweitmarkt. I did see some CL matches being listed but it was sold within 1min so the secret would be stalking the page all the time 😓

I am very glad I found your blog. Recently I made the mistake, out of rush and emotion to buy a very expensive ticket from viagogo to watch the Real Madrid-Bayern Munich game on April 12th. I realized the page might be fraudulent after they charge a lot of money for fees without letting me know. I then started reading about them and their possible scams. Now I am worried I might lose my money without even watching the game. They told me I bought a season card ticket and that they will contact me with direction on how to get it on the day of the event, however, now I am thinking if is permitted to attend the game with a season card that it doesn´t have my name. I am trying to find all possible things to see if I can dispute the huge charge on my credit card or see if I still try and hope to see if it was not a scam, but if the Bayern Munich doesn’t even let people in if they hold a season card that is a loan, I won’t even try. All your help is highly appreciate it.

Hi! As far as I know there are no rules against allowing resale of season pass tickets. Especially since ticket-zweitmarkt even allow for resale of tickets on bayern official channel.
Based on my memory of 2015 Allianz arena entrance its not a manned entrance but you just have to scan the barcode on the ticket. So they won’t check your identity and ask you to show your membership card.
In terms of whether the ticket is fraudulent, I can’t really guarantee. There are valid tickets on viagogo, I did once sold my ticket there. While I have a friend who got scammed on viagogo as well.
If it is fraudulent, if you use paypal you can easily get refund on fraudulent transaction.
